Julia Critelli recognized as one of a Home Furnishings Business Rising Star

Congratulations to Julia Critelli, manager at Critelli Furniture, for well-deserved recognition as one of Home Furnishings Business' Rising Star of 2022.

Julia is a fourth-generation member of Critelli Furniture, and has an impressive approach to business that is methodical, yet creative, Home Furnishings Business (HFB) states in its cover story recognizing its Top 40 Under 40 award recipients. Home Furnishings Business is the home furnishings industry's publication of choice for relevant content.

Smart and savvy, Julia has helped bring the company into a new era by embracing technology and overhauling various aspects of the 100+ year old business, states HFB. Julia has built a wonderful working relationship with her team and showed true leadership while helping to guide employees during pandemic lock downs.

The Critelli family opened its first retail store selling groceries, hardware and furniture in 1914 in Thorold. A second location in Niagara Falls followed in 1936 and the Critelli's established its St. Catharines store in 1939. By 1963, The Critelli's had closed its other stores and expanded into Downtown St. Catharines at its current King Street location. Since then Critelli continued to grow and now has two family-run downtown stores as well as a unique rug market.

THE ST. CATHARINES ADVANTAGE

Since 2013 HFB has recognized the industry’s young talent through its annual Forty Under 40 Awards. Each year through an open nomination process, HFB finds forty individuals, under the age of 40, who are making a difference in the home furnishings industry and their communities. The selection process focuses not only on leadership, but also on potential leadership.

The family  supports many philanthropic endeavors and is very involved with the local arts scene. Julia also leads the intern team at Critelli’s and nurtures the relationship with the local design college.

Congratulations from all us at TeamSTC.
