Congratulations Brock University in St. Catharines, ranked as the top university in Canada (for the 2nd consecutive year) and 10th worldwide for sport management research.
Brock's sport management program is known and respected for its comprehensive curriculum which expands students’ understanding of the multi-faceted sport industry. Brock's renowned Centre for Sport Capacity is a hub for sport management research, student experiential learning, and practical support to sport organizations in the Niagara Region, across Canada, and abroad.
The annual rankings by the University of North Texas’ Sports Innovation Project evaluated universities on the number of research publications their faculty members have produced over the past decade in three of the world’s flagship sport management journals.
Scholars in Brock’s Department of Sport Management produced 58 research publications within the three prominent journals. Top contributors include Shannon Kerwin, associate professor and graduate program director for the Department of Sport Management, and Michael Naraine, associate professor of Sport Management. Both climbed the rankings and placed within its Top 50 authors this year.
These outstanding achievements reflects the high-quality sport management research program at Brock helps strengthens St. Catharines' reputation for academia, sports innovation and talent.
